Study in Spain

Spain, located in southern Europe, has Madrid as its capital and Spanish as the official language. Renowned for its Mediterranean climate, centuries-old history, breathtaking landscapes, and delicious food, Spain is one of the world’s top tourist destinations welcoming over 50 million visitors each year.

Spain boasts some of the best universities globally, although the number of courses taught in English is limited. Public universities charge relatively low fees for both local and international students, making Spain a favorite destination for affordable, high-quality education.

Intakes & Academic Calendar

Spanish public universities mainly offer winter intakes beginning in September and ending in February, with additional summer intakes available. The academic year is divided into two semesters, with exams in February and July. For the best chance at securing a seat in top universities, start your application early—ideally by November or December of the previous year—as seats are limited.

Accessible Education

Spain’s public universities offer excellent value, with low fees and no distinction between local and international students.

Process

  • Minimum 60% in Bachelor's degree
  • IELTS above 6 or TOEFL: 90-100 required for most public universities.
  • 15 years of education in English for applying for Master's degree is required
